Alternative Techniques
These images are made using historic techniques, mostly from the 19th century. Chrysotypes use small particles of gold to form the image and can produce colours ranging from neutral blacks to rich reddy-purple tones.
Cyanotypes, with their charactistic intense blue colour, are formed of the pigment Prussian Blue. This compound also listed as an essential drug by the World Health Organisation for the treatment of poisoning by radioactive heavy metals.
